Jennifer Lopez recently shared insights into her past relationship with actor Ben Affleck, revealing that their decision to postpone their 2003 wedding did not immediately lead to their breakup.
During an interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music, the music icon confessed that although postponing the wedding signaled challenges in their relationship, they continued to stay together afterward, trying to salvage their connection.
Lopez admitted that the delay in their wedding plans raised doubts for both her and Ben regarding the future of their relationship. Despite her desire to be with him forever, she began to feel uncertain about the longevity of their marriage.
She acknowledged that they struggled to navigate their relationship, admitting that they were not mature enough to handle the challenges they faced. Lopez also shared that they believed people broke up when things became difficult, leading them to eventually part ways.
The singer further stated that they both needed to go find love and make families with other people before they could really work at being a couple again.
Lopez said she and Ben both felt more confident in themselves as individuals when they got back together and this time the relationship seems permanent, with the two officially tying the knot in 2022.
