Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) secured a dominant 4-1 win against US Orléans in the French Cup, with Kylian Mbappé playing a pivotal role in the victory. The star forward scored twice and provided two assists in a convincing performance.

Mbappé broke the deadlock in the 16th minute, capitalizing on a defensive lapse to drive the ball past Orléans’ goalkeeper. Despite facing a resilient Orléans defense, PSG struggled to extend its lead in the first half.

After the hour mark, Mbappé doubled PSG’s advantage from the penalty spot following a handball by Steve Solvet. The 25-year-old continued to showcase his versatility by setting up Gonçalo Ramos with a precise cross, extending PSG’s lead further.

Orléans managed to pull one back through Nicolas Saint-Ruf from a corner in the 86th minute, showing determination. However, PSG quickly responded, with Mbappé assisting 17-year-old substitute Senny Mayulu, who netted his first goal for PSG, sealing a 4-1 victory.

PSG boss Luis Enrique expressed reservations about the pitch but retained Mbappé in the lineup, emphasizing his importance to the team. The win propels PSG into the round of 16 in the French Cup.

In other French Cup action, Monaco advanced with a 3-1 victory over Rodez, featuring a hat trick from veteran striker Wissam Ben Yedder. Meanwhile, Nice faced crowd violence in their 3-2 win against Bordeaux, and Brest secured a late 2-1 victory against Trélissac.
