Liverpool Reaches Verbal Agreement with Sporting's Ruben Amorim as Klopp's Successor

Reports from Sky Germany suggest that Sporting Lisbon’s manager, Ruben Amorim, has reached a verbal agreement in principle with Liverpool to succeed Jurgen Klopp.

The 39-year-old has discussed a three-year contract, although a final deal is yet to be formalized between the clubs.

Liverpool sources, however, have refuted these claims, asserting that they are undergoing a comprehensive selection process with no preferred candidate identified.

Amorim, who has an exit clause in his Sporting contract for this summer, was also considered by Bayern Munich. He has enjoyed success at Sporting, winning the league title and two League Cups.

Despite Liverpool’s significant changes in personnel behind the scenes, including the return of Michael Edwards and the recruitment of Richard Hughes and Pedro Marques, Amorim emerges as a strong contender.

Xabi Alonso, previously linked to the role, remains committed to Bayer Leverkusen for the upcoming season. Amorim’s success and track record make him a compelling candidate for the Anfield role.
