In a daring rescue operation, Delta police command successfully freed a kidnap victim, resulting in the demise of two suspected kidnappers. The dramatic incident unfolded in Ekakpamre community, Ughelli-South Local Government Area, where operatives from the Ekpan division engaged the criminals in a fierce shootout.
Fortunately, the victim emerged from the ordeal unharmed, thanks to the swift and effective response of the police. Delta Police spokesperson, Bright Edafe, revealed that during the confrontation, two of the kidnappers succumbed to gunshot injuries, while a third managed to escape.
The police team not only secured the victim’s safety but also recovered essential items. Among the seized items were the abductee’s vehicle and a cache of weapons, including three firearms—two single barrel and one double barrel guns—accompanied by two expended cartridges.
Despite the success of the operation, authorities are actively pursuing the escaped suspect, intensifying efforts to bring them to justice. The incident highlights the dedication and bravery of Delta police in safeguarding the community and swiftly responding to criminal activities.
