Investigation Launched into Death of VGC Chairman, Gihan Mbelu

The Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the untimely death of Gihan Mbelu, aged 42, who served as the chairman of Victoria Garden City (VGC) in the Lekki area of Lagos.

On Friday, April 26, 2024, residents noticed Mr. Mbelu unconscious inside his C300 4Matic car around 10:10 am within the vicinity of VGC. Concerns arose when the engine had been running for an extended period while the vehicle was parked.

Efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, prompting a swift response to transport him to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital. Sadly, medical personnel confirmed his passing upon arrival.

The news of Mbelu’s sudden demise shocked the community, leading authorities to launch a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the incident on Saturday, April 27, underscoring the initiation of an inquiry to uncover the mysteries surrounding Mr. Mbelu’s tragic loss.

Gihan Mbelu, a financial adviser and venture capitalist, was married to Eloho, a distinguished tech entrepreneur and former investment banker. The couple is survived by two daughters.

As the investigation progresses, the community remains somber, awaiting answers regarding the unexpected loss of Gihan Mbelu.
