On Saturday afternoon, May 18, chaos erupted at the popular Banex area in the Wuse II district of Abuja when suspected thugs attacked soldiers in uniform.
Eyewitnesses reported that the altercation began after a disagreement between the soldiers and some individuals at a commercial complex in the area. The exact cause of the incident remains unclear.
A video of the incident posted on social media showed a group of young men arguing with two soldiers. The young men later broke into groups of three, attacking their targets fiercely.
