Abuja DISCO Issues Warning to Presidential Villa and 85 Other Government Entities Over Unpaid Electricity Bills

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has alerted President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential villa and 85 other government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) about their outstanding electricity debts, totaling N47.1 billion as of December 2023.

A 10-day notice has been issued by AEDC to these entities to settle their debts or face disconnection. Despite previous attempts to address the issue, the outstanding payments remain unresolved. The AEDC has specified that if payments are not made by Wednesday, February 28, 2024, services will be disconnected. Among the entities listed are the Presidential Villa and the Ministry of Power.
