Mamie Laverock, a 19-year-old actress known for her role in the Hallmark Channel series “When Calls the Heart,” is on life support after a tragic fall from a hospital balcony in Vancouver. The incident occurred on May 26, after Laverock had spent two weeks in intensive care due to a previous medical emergency.

According to a GoFundMe page set up by her parents, Rob and Nicole Compton, Laverock fell five stories from a balcony walkway after being escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital. She sustained life-threatening injuries and has undergone multiple extensive surgeries.

“We are deeply saddened to report that on May 26th, Mamie, who had been in intensive treatment for the past two weeks, fell from a hospital balcony. She is currently on life support,” her parents wrote on the GoFundMe page. “We are all devastated and in shock at this intensely difficult time.”

Laverock initially had a medical emergency in Winnipeg on May 11, which led to her transfer to the Vancouver hospital. Her recovery remains uncertain, but she is alive and showing signs of improvement.

The actress, known for her role as Rosaleen Sullivan in “When Calls the Heart” from 2014 to 2023, has received an outpouring of support from fans and fellow actors. Co-star Johannah Newmarch expressed her heartbreak on social media, urging fans to support Laverock’s family. Erin Krakow and Loretta Walsh also shared the GoFundMe link, encouraging donations to help with Laverock’s recovery.

Hallmark Media released a statement expressing their sorrow and extending prayers for Laverock and her family during this difficult time.

Laverock’s other acting credits include roles in “This Means War,” “A Series of Unfortunate Events,” and “The Hollow Child.” The GoFundMe campaign has raised over $14,500 to aid in her recovery.
