Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has been appointed as a King’s Trust International Ambassador by King Charles III. The appointment was made during a reception at Buckingham Palace celebrating the King’s Trust Awards 2024.
DJ Cuppy expressed her pride and honor in her new role, sharing a photo with King Charles III on her X handle, where she wrote, “Honoured to have been invited for a special reception with his Majesty the King, at Buckingham Palace. I am so proud to be a @KingsTrustInt Ambassador.”
The King’s Trust Awards recognize young people who have made significant contributions to their communities and support scientists in the mid to late stages of their postdoctoral research. At the event, DJ Cuppy presented the Global Sustainability Award and the Global Young Achiever Award.
Her father, billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, also expressed his pride on Instagram, sharing a photo of DJ Cuppy with King Charles and congratulating her on her new ambassadorial role.
