Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has candidly shared her thoughts on navigating singlehood in her 30s, describing the experience as “terrible.” The 31-year-old billionaire heiress and disc jockey took to her X account to express her sentiments, stating, “Being a single, childless woman in her 30s is terrible. All I ever do is exactly what I want, all the time.”

In December 2022, Cuppy confirmed her relationship with UK boxer Ryan Taylor, following a viral video hinting at a marriage proposal. The whirlwind romance led to their engagement after just 25 days of knowing each other. However, by July 2023, rumors circulated that the couple had parted ways, as they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

During a recent Women in Management, Business, and Public Service (WIMBIZ) conference in London, Cuppy publicly addressed the challenges she faced, including her failed jewellery line and academic struggles at Oxford. She reflected on the uncertainties in her life, including the end of her engagement, stating, “Now I can stand here and tell you how unpredictable my life has been despite being from a privileged background.”

Cuppy, the daughter of Nigerian billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, highlighted the setbacks in her journey but expressed optimism about the future. She acknowledged the uncertainties in life, including her failed jewellery venture at 28, academic challenges at Oxford, and the end of her engagement.

In her Instagram story, Cuppy reflected on the complexities of relationships, noting, “And after all this, we’ve gone back to being strangers.” Despite the challenges, she maintained a positive outlook, stating, “I know my story is still happening, and there is more to come, and I am okay with the uncertainties.”

DJ Cuppy, who began her career as the resident DJ at the MTV Africa Music Awards in 2014, has not only made a mark in the music industry with hits like ‘Gelato,’ ‘Green Light,’ ‘Vybe,’ and ‘Currency’ but has also opened up about the personal challenges she faces in her journey through singlehood and relationships.
