Braugher’s iconic portrayal of Captain Raymond Holt in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” from 2013 to 2021 left an indelible mark, earning him widespread acclaim. His stoic and no-nonsense character, coupled with a deep sense of humanity, endeared him to fans, especially in scenes alongside Andy Samberg’s Detective Jake Peralta.

The actor secured a lead actor Emmy for his role as Detective Frank Pembleton in NBC’s “Homicide: Life on the Street” in 1998, showcasing his intense and compelling performances. Braugher’s multifaceted career also saw him win another Emmy for the miniseries “Thief” in 2006.
