Canto, recognized for his role as the national security adviser in Designated Survivor alongside Kiefer Sutherland, was celebrated for his exceptional talent and spirit by colleagues. Kiefer Sutherland paid tribute, describing him as “such a wonderful spirit” and expressing deep sorrow for his wife, Stephanie, and their two young children.
In the 2014 X-Men film, Canto portrayed the mutant Sunspot, and his co-star Halle Berry later cast him in her movie Bruised. The actress and director expressed her grief on Instagram, saying, “my dear sweet friend Adan just gained his wings.”
Canto’s wife, Stephanie Ann, posted a poignant photo of the couple with a Bible passage, bidding farewell with the words “Forever my treasure Adan, see you soon.”
Known for his role as Aaron Shore in Designated Survivor, Canto’s passing deeply affected his co-stars.
