Celebrated music producer Don Jazzy has donated ₦100 million to social media activist VeryDarkMan’s new Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), which focuses on improving public schools and community development. The donation, disclosed on October 17, brings the NGO’s total funds to ₦179 million within five days of launch.
Initially, VeryDarkMan (VDM) expressed alarm in a video after discovering the unexpected deposit in the NGO’s account. Concerned that the large sum might be fraudulent or part of a setup, he called on Zenith Bank to investigate. “I am not into money laundering or fraud,” he reassured followers. “Please, Nigerians, bear me witness.”
After contacting several individuals to trace the source, VDM finally received a message from Don Jazzy, confirming the donation. The producer’s message read:
“Morning bro. Just saw your post. Na me send ₦100m to support. I believe in what you are doing and trust you to remain transparent. We really need that in this country. Wishing you all the best with the project—more blessings to you. E no easy.”
In a follow-up video, VDM expressed his gratitude while displaying the message and the transaction receipt. He admitted that the sudden influx of such a large donation took him by surprise since previous contributions had ranged between ₦50 and ₦500.
The news of Don Jazzy’s generosity quickly spread across social media, drawing praise from many users who applauded his commitment to supporting education and community development in Nigeria.
VDM reaffirmed his dedication to transparency, promising to share regular updates on how the funds are managed. With the significant backing from Don Jazzy and other supporters, the NGO is now positioned to create lasting impact in underserved communities and public schools across the country.
