In a show of defiance, former President Donald Trump arrived at a Green Bay, Wisconsin rally in a garbage truck, responding to what he described as President Joe Biden’s disrespectful remark labeling Trump supporters as “garbage.” The spectacle underscored Trump’s criticism of the Biden administration and heightened political tension between the two rivals as election season intensifies.
“Like my garbage truck?” Trump asked, gesturing at the white truck bearing his name as he greeted reporters. “This is dedicated to Kamala and Joe.” The jab came after Biden, in a recent statement, referred to a rally incident involving anti-Latino rhetoric as “garbage,” which Trump’s team interpreted as an attack on his supporters.
The controversy began after comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made an offensive joke about Puerto Rico at a Trump rally. While Biden clarified that his comment was directed at the comedian’s remarks, Trump seized the moment to portray the Biden-Harris administration as out of touch with American values. During his speech, Trump reiterated his support for Puerto Ricans, distancing himself from the comedian’s joke, saying, “I don’t know the guy; I don’t support what he said.”
The rally also featured support from local figures, including former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, who told the crowd, “We’re not garbage. We’re teachers, police officers, students—everyday Americans who make this country great.” Trump’s display marked a sharp escalation in his rhetoric, using Biden’s words to rally his base and criticize the administration’s perceived divisiveness.
