BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, confirmed that Thomas Crooks, the suspect involved in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump at a recent rally, briefly appeared in one of its 2022 advertisements.

The company stated that in the ad, which featured a teacher from Bethel Park High School, several unpaid students, including Crooks, appeared briefly in the background. Crooks graduated from the same high school in 2022.

BlackRock emphasized that Crooks was not compensated for his appearance and expressed condemnation of the assassination attempt on Trump, describing it as “abhorrent.”

The company has removed the ad from circulation and is cooperating with authorities by providing them with the video footage.

BlackRock is scheduled to release its second-quarter earnings on Monday.
