Elon Musk’s satellite internet service, Starlink, experienced a brief outage recently, affecting thousands of users. However, the company swiftly resolved the issue and announced that services were back up and running smoothly.
The outage, which lasted for about an hour, impacted approximately 41,393 users, according to reports from Downdetector.com. Starlink attributed the disruption to a network issue, which has since been fully resolved.
Starlink, a division of Musk’s SpaceX, dominates the satellite internet market, owning nearly 60% of the roughly 7,500 satellites orbiting Earth. Despite occasional service interruptions, it remains a prominent player in the industry.
The company’s recent milestone of surpassing 3 million users across 99 countries highlights its growing global reach. Musk’s visit to Indonesia and discussions with Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe underscore Starlink’s expansion plans in Asia.
Although Musk’s anticipated trip to India was postponed, he expressed intentions to visit later in the year, hinting at significant announcements regarding Starlink and other ventures.
