Sir Richard Branson, the founder of Virgin Group, has sustained injuries in a bike accident on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands.

The 73-year-old billionaire shared a photo on Instagram showing his bloodied arm and bruised hip, revealing that he had taken a “nasty” tumble after hitting a pothole. Fortunately, he escaped without any broken bones.

Expressing gratitude for his health and activity, Branson quoted a saying: “After all, the brave may not live forever but the cautious do not live at all!”

This isn’t the first time Branson has faced danger while cycling. In 2021, he was involved in a serious crash on another island in the British Virgin Islands during a charity ride.

Known for his adventurous spirit, Branson has attempted numerous world records in the past. More recently, he has been focused on launching commercial space flights with his company Virgin Galactic.
