Vinícius Júnior led Real Madrid to a much-needed 4-0 victory over Osasuna on Saturday, ending a two-game losing streak and reaffirming their title push in La Liga. The Brazilian forward was unstoppable, netting a hat trick that propelled Madrid to 27 points, six behind league leaders Barcelona, who face Real Sociedad on Sunday.
Madrid overcame a shaky start and injury setbacks to both Rodrygo and Éder Militão, who were forced off early. However, in the 34th minute, Vinícius seized a sharp pass from Jude Bellingham, surging past defenders and slotting the opener past Osasuna’s Sergio Herrera. Bellingham then ended his own scoreless stretch just eight minutes later, lofting a well-timed shot over Herrera to double Madrid’s lead.
The second half saw Vinícius back in form, scoring his second goal at the hour mark off a long, pinpoint pass from goalkeeper Andriy Lunin. Minutes later, he completed his hat-trick with a clinical close-range finish, thanks to Brahim Diaz’s assist after dispossessing Flavien Boyomo in Osasuna’s box.
Despite the convincing win, Madrid’s victory was marred by injuries, with Lucas Vázquez also exiting early due to a knock. Still, Carlo Ancelotti’s side avoided a “banana skin” fixture and head into the international break with renewed momentum in La Liga’s tight title race.
