Real Madrid cruised to a dominant 4-0 victory over Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday, extending their lead at the top of LaLiga to seven points. Goals from Vinicius Junior, rising star Arda Güler, and two own goals from Celta Vigo’s Carlos Dominguez and goalkeeper Vicente Guaita secured the comfortable win.
Vinicius put Madrid ahead in the 21st minute with a clinical finish, marking his 10th goal of the season. Despite Celta’s early efforts and solid goalkeeping from Guaita, Madrid’s pressure was relentless.
In the second half, a powerful header from Antonio Rüdiger off a Luka Modric corner ricocheted off the bar and into the net via Guaita’s back, doubling Madrid’s lead. Moments later, Celta defender Carlos Dominguez mistakenly turned a Vinicius cross into his own goal, making it 3-0.
Teenager Arda Güler added the finishing touch in stoppage time, scoring his first-ever goal for Real Madrid after coming on as a late substitute. “He has great talent and a bright future,” Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said about the 19-year-old.
With this victory, Real Madrid remain firmly on top with 69 points, seven ahead of Girona, while Celta Vigo continue to struggle in 17th place, just above the relegation zone.
Madrid will look to carry this momentum into their upcoming Champions League clash against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
