Germany maintained their grip on the top spot in the Nations League with a 2-1 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Friday, thanks to two quick goals from striker Deniz Undav. The VfB Stuttgart forward opened the scoring in the 30th minute and added another just six minutes later, giving Germany a commanding lead.
Despite missing key players like Jamal Musiala and Niclas Füllkrug due to injuries, Germany controlled the match from the outset. Florian Wirtz provided the assist for Undav’s first goal, and Maximilian Mittelstädt delivered a pinpoint cross for the second.
Bosnia nearly pulled level when Ermedin Demirovic hit the post, but it was veteran striker Edin Dzeko who eventually found the net with a powerful header in the 70th minute, giving the hosts hope. However, Bosnia could not find an equalizer in the remaining minutes.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann praised his team’s performance but noted they could have capitalized on more chances. The win keeps Germany atop Group A3 with seven points, while Bosnia remains at the bottom with just one.
Germany will face the Netherlands next, though they will be without Chris Führich, who suffered a muscle injury during the match.
