Sevilla FC has signed Nigerian winger Chidera Ejuke on a three-year contract. The 26-year-old joins the Andalusian club on a free transfer after his contract with CSKA Moscow expired. Ejuke, known for his agility and attacking prowess, previously played for Belgian champions Royal Antwerp, where he scored 5 goals and provided 6 assists in 39 appearances.
Ejuke is excited about the move, saying, “It is special to be the first Nigerian here. I feel good being part of this team and look forward to contributing. I also hope to earn a call-up to the Super Eagles.”
Ejuke began his European career with Norwegian side Valerenga in 2017 before moving to Dutch club Heerenveen. He caught CSKA Moscow’s attention with his impressive performance in the 2019/20 season, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists. During his time in Moscow, he added another 10 goals and 8 assists to his record and made his debut in European competition.
With 8 international caps for Nigeria, Ejuke’s arrival at Sevilla is expected to bolster their attacking options as they aim for a successful season under head coach García Pimienta.
