Barcelona ended a nearly decade-long winless streak against Bayern Munich in stunning fashion, with captain Raphinha scoring a hat-trick to lead his side to a 4-1 victory in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.

Raphinha wasted no time, scoring the first goal just over a minute into the match after a perfect pass from Fermín López. Although Bayern quickly responded with an equalizer from Harry Kane, Barcelona regained the lead when former Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski tapped in a second goal following a clever assist from López.

Bayern had their chances, with Serge Gnabry and Michael Olise threatening Barcelona’s high defensive line. However, Barca’s counter-attacks proved deadly. Just before halftime, Raphinha struck again with a brilliant curling effort from the edge of the box, and he completed his hat-trick in the 56th minute after a swift breakaway.

Despite Bayern’s attempts to get back into the game, Barcelona controlled the match and delighted their fans with a dominant performance. The victory sets up a highly anticipated clash with Real Madrid in El Clasico this Saturday.

“We’re very happy. To win like this, in front of our fans, is special,” Raphinha said after the game.

Barcelona now sit 10th in the Champions League standings with six points from three games, while Bayern remain at 23rd with three points.
