Ralf Schumacher, F1 Legend, Comes Out as Gay in Heartfelt Social Media Post

Ralf Schumacher, former Formula 1 driver and brother of seven-time champion Michael Schumacher, has come out as gay in a touching Instagram post. The 49-year-old shared an image of himself with his partner, Etienne, captioned: “The most beautiful thing in life is when you have the right partner by your side with whom you can share everything.”

Schumacher, who raced for Jordan, Williams, and Toyota between 1997 and 2007, was previously married to Cora-Caroline Brinkmann, with whom he has a son, David. The couple divorced in 2015.

Since retiring from racing, Schumacher has worked as a driver mentor and co-commentator for Sky Sports in Germany. His coming out was met with widespread support, including a heartfelt message from German actress and reality TV star Carmen Geiss, who praised his courage and celebrated his relationship with Etienne.

Schumacher is only the second male Formula 1 driver to publicly come out as gay, following Mike Beuttler, who raced in the early 1970s.
