Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Bunny Shaw have been named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year in the men’s and women’s categories, recognizing their exceptional performances during the 2023-24 season.

Phil Foden, 24, was a key figure in Manchester City’s historic fourth consecutive Premier League title win, contributing 19 goals and eight assists across all competitions. His efforts also helped City lift the FIFA Club World Cup and reach the FA Cup final. Foden’s remarkable season saw him surpass strong contenders, including teammate Erling Haaland, to claim the prestigious award.

Bunny Shaw, the Jamaican forward, earned the Women’s Player of the Year title after an outstanding season in the Women’s Super League (WSL). Shaw scored 21 goals, leading Manchester City’s attack as they finished second, only losing out on the title to Chelsea by goal difference. Her consistent goal-scoring ability also earned her the WSL Player of the Season and FWA Women’s Footballer of the Year honors.

Chelsea’s rising star Cole Palmer was awarded the PFA Young Player of the Year for his breakout season. Palmer, 22, notched 22 goals and 15 assists, playing a crucial role in Chelsea’s push for European qualification. His performances marked a swift rise after joining Chelsea from Manchester City in 2023.

Grace Clinton of Manchester United won the Women’s Young Player of the Year award following a standout loan spell at Tottenham Hotspur. Clinton, a dynamic midfielder, was instrumental for Spurs, contributing four goals and four assists.

Additionally, Fara Williams, England’s most-capped player, and MK Dons’ Dean Lewington were honored with PFA Merit Awards for their extraordinary careers. Other award winners included Crysencio Summerville (Championship Player of the Year), Alfie May (League One Player of the Year), and Jodi Jones (League Two Player of the Year).
