Barcelona’s unbeaten start to the La Liga season came to a shocking end as Osasuna triumphed 4-2 at home, led by a stellar two-goal performance from Croatian forward Ante Budimir. The victory, fueled by Osasuna’s aggressive pressing and quick counter-attacks, left Barcelona struggling to cope at El Sadar Stadium.

Osasuna took control early, with Bryan Zaragoza, on loan from Bayern Munich, setting up Budimir for a close-range header in the 18th minute. Zaragoza then doubled the lead just 10 minutes later with a powerful finish following a rapid counter-attack.

Barcelona managed to pull one back in the 53rd minute after a goalkeeping error by Sergio Herrera allowed Pau Victor’s weak strike to slip into the net. However, Osasuna restored their two-goal cushion in the 72nd minute when Budimir converted a penalty after being fouled in the box.

Abel Bretones added a stunning long-range strike in the 83rd minute to make it 4-1, but Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal responded with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box in the 89th minute. Despite a late effort that saw Ferran Torres hit the post, Barcelona couldn’t close the gap, and the match ended in Osasuna’s favor.

The loss leaves Barcelona at 21 points, just ahead of Real Madrid, who have a game in hand. Osasuna’s victory propels them to sixth place with 14 points.

“We knew we had to be at our best to beat Barcelona,” said Zaragoza after the match. “It was an incredible team effort, and I’m thrilled to have played a part in such a special win.”
