Argentina has taken a playful jab at Canadian rapper Drake after he lost a $300,000 bet on his country winning against Argentina in the Copa America semi-final. Drake had posted on Instagram about the bet, which would have yielded a $2.88 million payout if Canada had won. However, Argentina secured a 2-0 victory with goals from Julian Alvarez and Lionel Messi, advancing to the final.
In response, Argentina’s official social media account posted a photo of Messi and his teammates celebrating, captioned with “Not like us,” referencing Kendrick Lamar’s diss track targeting Drake. The track, which has been streamed nearly half a billion times on Spotify, and its music video, which has over 115 million views on YouTube, highlight the rivalry between the two artists.
Argentina is now aiming for a record 16th Copa America title and will face either Uruguay or Colombia in Sunday’s final.
