Nigerian footballer Paul Julius, 20, has tragically lost his life in a car accident in Cyprus. The young forward, who had recently signed with Cypriot club Enosis Neon Paralimniou, was involved in a fatal head-on collision on the Paralimni-Protaras road just three weeks after joining the team from Egyptian side El Gaish.
Enosis Neon Paralimniou expressed deep sorrow over Julius’s untimely death in an official statement. The club praised Julius for his dedication and ambition, despite the challenges he faced in joining the team. “Paul was an exemplary young footballer with high goals and dreams. His memory will forever remain in our hearts, even though his time with us was brief,” the statement read.
In honor of Julius, the club announced that its players will wear black armbands during their next match, and a moment of silence will be observed. The club’s flag will also be flown at half-mast for three days.
Julius’s sudden passing has left the football community in shock, with condolences pouring in for his family and loved ones. His promising career was tragically cut short, but his determination and spirit will be remembered by those who knew him.
