Manchester United’s £42 Million Bid for Lille’s Leny Yoro Accepted; Defender Prefers Real Madrid Move

Manchester United's £42 Million Bid for Lille's Leny Yoro Accepted; Defender Prefers Real Madrid Move

Manchester United has had a £42 million bid accepted by Lille for 18-year-old defender Leny Yoro. Despite this, the French U21 international is reportedly more interested in a move to Real Madrid, the reigning UEFA Champions League winners.

Sky Sports News confirms that United reached an agreement in principle with Lille. The deal’s acceptance comes as United’s second bid for Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite was rejected. Yoro, with one year left on his contract, faces a decision: join Manchester United or hold out for a potential move to Real Madrid.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Lille is urging Yoro to accept Manchester United’s offer. However, Yoro remains hopeful for a transfer to Real Madrid, even though their offers have not met Lille’s valuation.

Manchester United aims to avoid drawn-out transfer sagas and has multiple targets for their key positions. If Yoro remains firm on his preference for Real Madrid and a deal isn’t reached, he could potentially stay at Lille and move for free next summer.
