England Reaches Euro 2024 Final with Last-Minute Winner Against Netherlands

England secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over the Netherlands, thanks to Ollie Watkins’ last-second goal, sending them to the Euro 2024 final against Spain in Berlin. This marks England’s second consecutive European Championship final and their first major tournament final on foreign soil.

The Netherlands started strong, with Xavi Simons scoring a stunning goal in the 7th minute after intercepting a pass from Declan Rice. England quickly responded, with Harry Kane winning a controversial penalty after being fouled by Denzel Dumfries. Kane converted the penalty, equalizing the score at 1-1.

England dominated the remainder of the first half, with Phil Foden and Kobbie Mainoo creating several scoring opportunities. However, the second half saw a more cautious England side, struggling to break down the Dutch defense.

Gareth Southgate’s tactical changes paid off in the end. Substitute Cole Palmer set up Ollie Watkins, who fired a decisive shot into the far corner, sealing the victory for England in added time. The win sets up an exciting final clash against Spain, where England will look to claim their first European Championship title outside their home country.
