Chelsea is making significant progress in their efforts to sign 17-year-old right-back Pedro Lima from Brazilian club Sport Recife, as confirmed by the player’s agent, Renato Guimaraes.
The Blues have been linked with Lima, who has scored two goals and registered two assists in 25 senior appearances. He has also represented Brazil at the U17 level.
“There has been progress in the negotiations, but it’s not over yet,” Guimaraes told Globo Esporte. “The salary part is settled, but there are still some clauses to be defined in the contract, some bonuses.”
Chelsea has been actively scouting young talent under the ownership of Todd Boehly, already signing players like Andrey Santos, Deivid Washington, Angelo, and Kendry Paez. They are also close to landing Estevao Willian, dubbed ‘Little Messi.’
Marcelo Barros, Sport Recife’s sporting director, confirmed multiple clubs are interested in Lima, but Chelsea’s negotiations are the most advanced. “There are many clubs interested. And Pedro and I have been talking to more than one club. But there are slightly more advanced negotiations with one of them.”
Chelsea’s scouts have been monitoring Lima throughout the season, considering him one of the best right-backs in his age group. While Real Madrid also shows interest, Chelsea remains confident in securing Lima’s signature.
With Enzo Maresca recently appointed as manager, Chelsea continues to bolster their squad with promising young talents, ensuring a bright future for the club.
