Borussia Dortmund secured a convincing 3-0 victory over Club Brugge in the UEFA Champions League, thanks to a double from substitute Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and a late penalty by Serhou Guirassy.
Despite Brugge dominating early on and hitting the crossbar through Hugo Vetlesen, it was Dortmund who broke the deadlock in the 76th minute when 20-year-old Bynoe-Gittens’ deflected shot found the net. He added a second moments later with a dazzling solo effort, dribbling past defenders before firing home.
Brugge had multiple chances but struggled with finishing, and their confidence faded after conceding the first goal. Dortmund’s third came when Guirassy converted a penalty after being fouled by Brandon Mechele.
Dortmund now look ahead to their clash with Celtic, while Brugge will seek redemption against Sturm Graz.
