Boxing legend Roy Jones Jr. revealed on Monday that his son, DeAndre Jones, tragically died by suicide at the age of 32. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Jones expressed gratitude for being able to spend DeAndre’s final night with him and their family before his passing on Saturday.

Roy Jones Jr., known for his remarkable career spanning from 1989 to his retirement in 2018, captured multiple world titles across different weight divisions. He notably made history as the first middleweight champion in 106 years to win a heavyweight title, and retired with a record of 66-9, including 47 knockouts. Jones, a native of Pensacola and graduate of Booker T. Washington, remains highly regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of his era.

In his Facebook message, Jones urged compassion during difficult times and emphasized the sanctity of life, closing with gratitude for the community’s support and a request for privacy as his family mourns their loss.
