Jose Peseiro, the head coach of the Super Eagles, touched down in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on the night of January 2, marking the commencement of his team’s preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Accompanied by his coaching assistants, Peseiro’s arrival coincided with a delegation of players and team officials departing from Abuja on Tuesday afternoon. Among the notable players on the flight from Abuja were Captain Ahmed Musa, Kenneth Omeruo, and Olorunleke Ojo. Simultaneously, others in the squad departed from Lagos.
The team is gearing up to kickstart their preparations for the upcoming competition at their training base, set to commence on Wednesday. As the Super Eagles assemble in Abu Dhabi, anticipation is building for the tournament, and fans eagerly await updates on the team’s training and strategies leading up to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The three-time African champions will spend a week in Abu Dhabi before traveling to Abidjan for the 2023 AFCON finals.
They are expected to arrive Abidjan on Wednesday, January 10.
