Tinubu Appoints Walson-Jack as Head of Civil Service

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, effective August 14, 2024. This announcement was made by Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale on Wednesday.

Walson-Jack will succeed Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, who is set to retire on August 13, 2024. President Tinubu thanked Yemi-Esan for her service and expects Walson-Jack to bring innovation, integrity, and strict adherence to civil service regulations in her new role.

Walson-Jack was appointed as a Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has served in various ministries, including the Federal Ministry of Education, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Ministry of Power, and Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Lagos and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1987. She is married to Hon. Nimi Walson-Jack, a former General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association.
