The 2024 Ojude Oba festival has commenced at the Oba Sikiru Adetona Pavilion in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State. This vibrant cultural event, now over a decade old, celebrates the leadership of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona.
This year’s festival is attended by Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, state executive council members, Oba Sikiru Adetona, his wife, Chief Sunny Kuku, and other notable personalities including former Governor Olusegun Osoba and Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel. About 76 age groups are expected to pay homage to the traditional ruler, showcasing their loyalty and respect.
The Ojude Oba festival, known for its glitz, glamour, and vibrant displays, celebrates Ijebu culture and traditions annually on the third day of the Muslim Eid-el-Kabir. The festival transforms Ijebu Ode into a lively carnival, attracting locals and tourists alike to honor their monarch and enjoy the festivities.
