The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, has instructed the complete enforcement of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc) Amendment Act 2024 to bolster counter-terrorism efforts in Nigeria.
Ribadu also mandated the activation of the National Cybersecurity Fund by all relevant regulators and businesses listed in the second schedule of the Act.
The NSA made the order via a statement issued Thursday night by the head of the strategic communications in the Office of the National Security Adviser, Zakari Mijinyawa.
He said African leaders, after a two-day high level international counter-terrorism meeting held in Abuja called for the improved deployment of greater support and resources towards strengthening cybersecurity activities in Africa.
