The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially opened applications for its 2024 Basic Military Training Course, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply online from August 21 to October 2, 2024.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Applicants must be Nigerian citizens and possess a National Identification Number (NIN) or Bank Verification Number (BVN).
- Height Requirements: Male applicants must stand at least 1.66 meters tall, while female applicants must be at least 1.63 meters tall.
- Fitness Standards: All applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, with no criminal record.
Age and Educational Qualifications
- Non-Tradesmen/Women: Applicants should be between 18 and 22 years old and have at least five credits in their SSCE, including Mathematics and English, in no more than two sittings (WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB).
- Tradesmen/Women: Candidates must be between 18 and 25 years old and meet the same educational criteria. Additional qualifications, such as trade test certificates, are required for specific technical roles like drivers, mechanics, and technicians.
- Special Roles: Applicants for chaplain, Imam assistant, driver, and mechanic positions must be between 18 and 28 years old.
Application Process
To avoid disqualification, applicants must submit only one application through the official NAF recruitment portal. After completing the application, candidates should print out the Acknowledgment Form, Parent/Guardian Consent Form, and Local Government Attestation Form, which need to be signed by a military officer or a local government chairman.
Additional Requirements
- ND/NCE Holders: Candidates with a National Diploma (ND) or National Certificate of Education (NCE) must have at least a lower credit and meet the required SSCE credits.
- Sportsmen/Women: Applicants with a background in sports should provide certificates or medals as proof of their experience.
