The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries has addressed the controversy surrounding a viral testimony video, urging the public to be cautious of misleading online content. The video, which circulated widely, featured a church member recounting how she supposedly disarmed four armed robbers and took their weapon, which she mistakenly referred to as an “AK-27.”
Pastor Chidi Louis, Head of Public Relations and Media for the church, clarified that the testimony had been misrepresented. “The woman was sharing a dream, not a real-life event,” Louis explained. He encouraged the public to view the full testimony on the church’s official platform for proper context. “Nigerians should visit our church’s platform to listen to the complete testimony for better understanding.”
The viral video was edited and taken out of context, according to the church’s media department, which labeled it as fake. The church warned that social media content can often be manipulated for mockery and urged viewers not to believe everything they see online.
“The viral video is doctored. Most of these bloggers are editing content to ridicule the work of God,” Louis said, calling the behavior “wicked and devilish.” The church has since released the unedited version of the testimony on its TikTok handle, clarifying that the incident occurred in a dream.
The church stressed the importance of verifying information before forming conclusions, urging the public to refrain from spreading false or misleading narratives.
