Katsina State Hisbah Board Destroys N60m Worth of Alcohol and Illicit Drugs

The Katsina State Hisbah Board has destroyed seized alcohol and other illicit drugs valued at N60 million in Funtua Local Government Area. Dr. Aminu Usman, the Hisbah Commander, announced this on Sunday, July 21, 2024, to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Dr. Usman detailed that the destruction included 1,750 crates of alcohol and 33 jerry cans of locally brewed beer. The action is part of Hisbah’s ongoing efforts to promote moral standards within the state.

Commending the officials for their dedication, Dr. Usman encouraged them to continue their commitment to upholding the board’s mandate. He also called for the support of religious leaders, emphasizing that Hisbah’s mission transcends any particular group or sect.

The Hisbah commander also commended Governor Dikko Radda for the full support he has been giving the board in discharging its responsibilities

Usman also appealed to the public to always assist the board with genuine information on places where immoral behaviours were committed

He called on parents, teachers, and community leaders to intensify efforts to instill discipline and good morals among youths in their communities.
