Ajibola Afonja, former Minister of Labour and Chairman of First Bank Nigeria, has passed away at the age of 82. The Oyo-born Prince died on Sunday night at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Oyo State.
Ajibola Afonja served as Minister of Labour under the interim government of Earnest Shonekan and chaired the Board of Directors of First Bank Plc. A prominent figure in both national and local communities, Afonja was known for his contributions to industry and community development. He was also the chairman of Integrated Dimensional System and held leadership roles in several other companies.
