Former Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, who represented Kwara South Senatorial District, has passed away at the age of 57 after a brief illness.
The late senator’s death was confirmed in statements from the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the family.
Governor AbdulRazaq expressed shock and sadness over Senator Ibrahim’s demise, extending heartfelt condolences to the family, the people of Ojoku in Oyun Local Government Area, and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Senator Ibrahim, who served in the eighth National Assembly from 2015 to 2019, was known for his leadership as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions. He sponsored six bills and supervised eight others during his tenure.
The late senator will be buried at the Muslim cemetery in Ilorin on Wednesday, with burial arrangements to be communicated later. May Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus. Ameen.
