Former Konga CEO Nick Imudia Dies by Suicide in Lagos

Nick Imudia, the former CEO of Nigerian e-commerce giant Konga, has died by suicide on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Imudia, who was serving as the CEO of D.light, a leading residential solar energy solutions company, reportedly took his life by jumping from the balcony of his Lekki, Lagos apartment.

Before the tragic incident, Imudia contacted his brother in the United States, providing instructions on how to distribute his wealth. He also reached out to his young daughter from a previous relationship, assuring her that he would always be with her and that she could find him by looking at the sky.

The news has left his friends, family, and colleagues in shock, struggling to understand the reasons behind his decision. Imudia, originally from Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, had previously been married to the mother of his daughter. The marriage ended due to irreconcilable differences.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the case, stating, “Yes, it is true. He committed the act on June 25.”
