The family of renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi has refuted rumors circulating about his death. Reports suggesting the demise of the 97-year-old leader of the Sufism Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria were dismissed by a family member, Sanusi Dahiru.
Sanusi Dahiru assured the public that Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi is in good health and currently in Abuja. He further stated that the cleric plans to attend an event in Kaduna, emphasizing that the reports of his death are unfounded.
He urged people to disregard the rumors and requested Muslim faithful to continue praying for the well-being of Sheikh Dahiru Usman-Bauchi.
In separate news, the Ondo State police command has arrested an Islamic cleric named Oluwafemi Idris for unlawfully possessing fresh human body parts. The suspect, also known as Alfa, was apprehended in the Akoko area of the state following intelligence gathered by police detectives.
