Tyler, the Creator has released Chromakopia, his self-produced follow-up to Call Me If You Get Lost. The album features artists like Childish Gambino, Schoolboy Q, Teezo Touchdown, and Daniel Caesar, though guest credits remain unlisted on streaming platforms. Fans have been captivated by his noirish, sepia-toned teaser videos, especially St. Chroma, where Tyler hints at a new persona, possibly inspired by The Phantom Tollbooth’s “Chroma the Great,” who brings color to the world through music.
Chromakopia explores themes of maturity and reflection, with Tyler sharing insights he’s gained since turning 33. He reflected on life changes at a listening event in Los Angeles, noting, “I’m not the guy I was at 20…Life is life. I just wanted to write about stuff I think about when I’m alone.”
The album’s release was preceded by promotional trucks traveling across the U.S. with the Chromakopia branding. Tyler will support the album with a world tour beginning February 2025, featuring opening acts Lil Yachty and Paris Texas, with Canadian stops in Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver.
