Tom Holland, known for his role as Spider-Man, will star in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated next film, set for release on July 17, 2026. Holland will join Matt Damon in the project, marking his first collaboration with the renowned director.
While plot details remain tightly guarded, sources hint that the story won’t be set in the present day, leaving fans speculating whether it takes place in the past or future. Nolan, both writing and directing the film, will once again partner with Universal Pictures, following the success of Oppenheimer, which grossed nearly $1 billion and earned multiple Academy Awards.
This film also continues Nolan’s shift from Warner Bros, with whom he had collaborated for years, to Universal, after a public split during the pandemic. Damon, a frequent collaborator with Nolan, appeared in both Interstellar and Oppenheimer, while this will be Holland’s first project with the director.
Holland’s casting adds to his already busy 2025 schedule, as he is set to film Spider-Man 4 and potentially join the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Despite the packed slate, fans are excited to see Holland step into a new cinematic universe under Nolan’s direction.
