Renowned Nigerian music video director TG Omori, also known as ThankGod Omori Smith, has assured fans of his return to the entertainment scene in 2025 after experiencing complications from a failed kidney transplant. Omori, who underwent the procedure in August at St. Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, revealed that his only brother donated a kidney to save his life.
In a series of heartfelt tweets, Omori expressed his resilience, stating, “It’s mind over matter. If the mind is defeated, it’s only a matter of time before the body falls.” He added, “Pain has no power over me,” reinforcing his determination to overcome the health challenges that have kept him out of the public eye.
The director, known for his work with top artists like Wizkid, Burna Boy, and Olamide, has been battling kidney disease and shared that despite the failed transplant, he is recovering and hopeful for the future. Omori, who announced earlier this year that he quit smoking, encouraged his followers to stay positive and patient, promising, “I’ll be back in 2025. Stay in love!”
Omori’s health struggles have caused concern among fans, but his positive attitude and determination to fight through adversity have inspired many. He expressed deep gratitude for the support and prayers he’s received, vowing to return stronger and continue creating music videos that captivate his audience.
The 28-year-old director, who started his career at the age of 20, has faced multiple health challenges in recent years, including hospitalization last year due to the consumption of fake drinks. Despite these setbacks, Omori’s unwavering spirit continues to shine, and fans eagerly anticipate his comeback in 2025.
