Renowned TV producer Duma Ka Ndlovu has been granted R100,000 bail by the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court after being charged with fraud and tax evasion involving R25 million. His tax advisors, Rodney Mutsharini and Maxwell Mloyi, were granted bail of R50,000 each.
The state accuses Ndlovu and his co-accused of manipulating both personal and corporate tax returns over several years, leading to substantial financial losses for the South African Revenue Service (SARS). Ndlovu’s company, Ambrobrite, allegedly claimed to be dormant while receiving payments from Bain & Company for services between 2013 and 2016. False tax declarations are believed to have been made during this period.
Ndlovu’s plea to bar media coverage of the trial was denied, and the case has been postponed to November 11 for further investigation. The court ordered all three defendants to surrender their passports and report to their local police stations weekly. If found guilty, Ndlovu could face a fine or up to two years in prison.
