Sonia, the ex-wife of Nigerian footballer Jude Ighalo, has publicly called on him to retrieve the bride price paid during their traditional wedding, marking a formal end to their marriage.
In a post shared on her Instagram, Sonia revealed that she had arranged for a farewell party years ago where Ighalo’s family was supposed to collect the bride price. However, they failed to attend, leaving the matter unresolved.
She expressed frustration that her father, who had sponsored their wedding, was disrespected by the no-show from Ighalo’s family. Sonia further claimed that Jude’s older brother avoided visiting her father due to intimidation.
Now, Sonia has requested that Jude Ighalo and his family, specifically his father, Sir Clement Ighalo, arrange for representatives to finalize the process and collect the bride price, formally ending their traditional marriage.
This comes after Jude Ighalo seemingly criticized Sonia on social media for repeatedly discussing their past relationship publicly.
