Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested Monday night by federal agents at a Manhattan hotel in New York City, according to multiple sources. The arrest followed a sealed indictment issued by a federal grand jury in Manhattan, as confirmed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
While the specific charges have not yet been revealed, Combs has been under investigation for several months, tied to allegations of sexual misconduct and sex trafficking. His arrest comes after his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, filed a civil lawsuit against him, which was settled shortly afterward. Several other lawsuits have followed, accusing Combs of sexual assault and abuse, all of which he has denied.
In a statement, Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment in the arrest, describing it as an “unjust prosecution.” He emphasized that Combs had been cooperative with investigators, even relocating to New York in anticipation of the charges.
“Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, and philanthropist. He is an imperfect person, but he is not a criminal,” Agnifilo said. “These are the actions of an innocent man, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
Federal agents had previously searched Combs’ Los Angeles and Miami properties as part of the ongoing investigation, seizing electronic devices as evidence. The Southern District of New York is leading the case, which involves multiple allegations of serious misconduct.
Further details are expected once the indictment is unsealed.
