Scottish DJ and producer Jack Revill, known worldwide as Jackmaster, has died at age 38 after complications from an accidental head injury in Ibiza. His family confirmed the devastating news, saying they are “utterly heartbroken” by his sudden passing on October 12.
Revill, who was a prominent figure in the global electronic music scene, co-founded the influential record label Numbers and performed at some of the world’s top clubs and festivals. Born and raised in Glasgow, he started his career at the iconic Rubadub record shop before gaining international fame as a DJ.
His family issued a statement expressing their profound grief: “Jack tragically died following complications from an accidental head injury. While deeply touched by the overwhelming support from friends, colleagues, and fans, the family kindly requests privacy as they navigate this immense loss.”
Revill’s music left a lasting impact on the dance scene, with his recent single Nitro showcasing his love for high-energy club experiences. In a recent interview, he lamented the changing culture of nightlife, blaming smartphones for the decline in spontaneous dancing, which he considered a “lost art form.”
Tributes have flooded social media, with artists like Disclosure expressing their heartbreak: “Thank you for all the amazing memories & inspiration Jack. This is just awful.” Electronic duo CamelPhat also paid tribute, calling Revill “one of the nicest fellas we ever met in an industry full of ego.”
